Julie: "Julie is a sweet, 100-pound, 3-year-old female in search of a little TLC. She's scared of people at first, so she can come off as stand-offish. She needs a little time to warm up to people before she trusts them, but she's not aggressive at all. She just prefers to keep her distance until she can be persuaded that you're a good person. Once that trust is gained, she becomes very attached to her people. She's good with other dogs. Julie is spayed and up-to-date on her shots." 8/18/2010

Ellie Mae: "Ellie Mae is a very friendly 1 1/2-year-old female. She weighs about 100 pounds and loves to play tug of war or with her stuffed toys. She barks at other dogs if she doesn't know them, but we suspect she's just being a little bossy. We're in the process of determining whether she would be good with other dogs in a new home. She is spayed and up-to-date on her shots." 8/18/2010

Emmy: Emmy is an unique 2-year-old Saint Bernard female that doesn't have a face mask! Instead, she's sports an all white face. Emmy is very timid both around new people and new dogs. She will growl at strangers if she feels threatened, but usually calms down within a few minutes. Emmy needs some time before she really trusts new people. But once she opens up, she's super sweet and loyal to her owners. She is house trained and knows her basic obedience commands. She's good with the other dogs in her foster home. Better act fast or this one of a kind Saint will get away! 8/15/2010

Balboa: Balboa is super energetic a 1 1/2-year-old male Saint. He was raised in a house with 5 kids ranging from 1 to 9 years old, so he's used to a very chaotic homelife. He's good with cats, dogs, and young children. Balboa doesn't like to sit still, and still needs to learn some house and car-riding manners. But he is completely housebroken. He's already neutered, and by the time he's adopted he will be brought up to date on his shots. Balboa is allergic to flea bites, so it's important that he be kept on a good flea prevention medication. He has absolutely no aggression issues, but does like to jump up on people. Balboa always needs something to do, so you better have dog toys available for him! With a little simple training, Balboa will make a great addition to any home! 8/15/2010

Scooby: Scooby is a 10-month-old male who was given a second chance on life when he came to our Rescue. He had been condemned as an "aggressive dog" by the shelter where we picked him up, but it turns out that he's the complete opposite of aggressive. He's a very fearful dog, and we suspect that he was abused at some point in his short life. He will air snap when he feels threatened or cornered, but never has he gone after a person on purpose. Since arriving at his foster home, he's become a 100-pound lap dog. He follows his foster parents around the house all the time, and wants nothing more than to be shown as much affection as they can dish out. We suspect that he was never around any other dogs before. He tolerates the other fosters in his home, but he doesn't know how to play with them. He much rather play with his foster parents. He will let people he's comfortable with take toys and food right out of his mouth, but he air snaps at the other dogs when they get too close to him when he's near the food dish or has a bone between his paws. Because of his defensive air snapping, we would prefer a home with no young kids.  He just needs a loving home where he can learn that people and other pets won't hurt him. Can you give him the love he needs? 8/15/2010

Rocky:. "Rocky (not to be confused with a dog of the same name who is paired with Apollo) is about 1 year old. He was picked up as a stray, and is definitely in need of some obedience training. He is housebroken, but he loves to jump up on people and he is mouthy when he plays. He's a big ball of energy and was never taught the right way to share that with people. Generally he's very friendly, but he doesn't like anyone touching his back end. He's a great dog with his own family, but he HATES strangers coming into his home. We're working on obedience, but he should still be put in a home with  older kids or no kids just in case. Prior Saint Bernard or other large breed experience will be a plus to handling Rocky. He will need to be neutered before he can go to his forever home." 7/28/2010
 

Lollipop: is a 5-year-old, spayed female that is picky on who her friends are. She currently lives with a 45 pounds border collie mix female and she loves her. Lollipop is a dominant female. She lives with four kids that range from 12-18 and a cat. She doesn't try to eat the cat, but does love to play "chase the kitty". She doesn't like little dogs. Lollipop will have to pick her housemate if she is adopted to a home with another animal. She is also food aggressive so she would have to be fed separate. 6/14/2010
