CALLA: is 3-4 years old.  She is loving and outgoing.  She is very docile.  Calla and her daughter Lilly were found as strays and found on a 4 lane highway.  They were taken to the pound and nobody claimed them, so Mid-Atlantic Saint Bernard Rescue was lucky enough to be able to save them and now we need to find a home for them.  Calla and Lilly are a bonded pair and need to be adopted together.  Calla is underweight and can use some tender loving care and good food to bring her to her best.  She is a darling and really loves attention.  Please consider bringing Calla and her daughter Lilly into your home.  It would be best if they could be adopted to a home where they are the only dogs and then they can grow and flourish together.  Please call about them. 2/1/2012

LILLY: is the daughter of Calla.  She is about one and a half years old.  She and her mother were found as strays on a 4 lane highway in Virginia.  They were taken to the local pound and after 10 days, nobody had claimed them.  We were happy that we were able to save them and brought them into rescue to find them a new home.  They are a bonded pair and need to be adopted together.  Lilly is on the shy side and really prefers to be near her mom.  We feel that they would do best in a home where they are the only dogs. Her foster parents tell us that she is now fully housetrained and was a very quick learner. She and her mom are getting checked out by the vet and have their shots updated and are scheduled to be spayed shortly.  Lilly, liker her mom, is very underweight and can use a loving home to bring them up to a good weight.  Please think about giving this dynamic duo a chance at a new life with you! 2/1/2012

CALLIE: is a loveable 1-year-old female puppy.  So far she hasn't met anybody or anything that she does not like.  She has a really nice rough coat (long-haired).  She loves a good belly rub and a run in the yard.  Callie is just a bundle of puppy love ready to come to your home for the New Year. 1/31/2012

SANTI:  is a 2 yr old, smooth coat Saint Bernard.  His adoptive family's other dog is not accepting another dog being brought in the house, having been an only dog his entire life.  Santi is incredibly sweet and always excited to meet new people.  He is very well behaved and does not drool very much at all! He loves to lay on the couch with you and will follow you anywhere.  He gives great kisses and is amazing to hug!  He has nothing but love in his heart and his family is heartbroken to have to give him up despite only have adopted him a short time ago.  He will definitely make another family very happy and they will be lucky to have him.  He has just had all his shots updated and physical exam as well.  If you have any other questions, please contact us. 1/30/2012

Chopper: Hello I am a sweet boy who just wants a home I can call my own. I was given to rescue due to a change in my family situation, which by the way was not my fault. I like walks and spending with my family. I would love a new family where I would get a lot of attention and have a lots of treats and car rides. Also I am very mellow.  Please make me your new BFF. 1/10/2012

BIG MAMA: is one of the sweetest dogs you will ever find.  She is a 3-year-old spayed female.  Big Mama has short hair (smooth coat).  She gets along with pretty much everything and everybody.  She is a big girl looking for somebody to love her fur-ever.  Please fill out an application and ask for more information on the sweet Big Mama. 1/5/2012

MAX: is a beautiful male Saint Bernard who is looking for a new and loving home.  His current family is unable to keep him and would love to see him find a home before the New Year.  Max will be 2 in March.  He is neutered.  He has a rough coat (long hair) and is a big boy, weighing in between 125 and 150 pounds.  He loves to play.  Max is not a fetcher, but rather a chaser.  He loves you to throw a stick for him.  He will race after it, pick it up and shake it for a bit, and then lay down and chew on it.  Max is certainly the typical Saint as he does not know his size and often gets scared of something new, but then quickly shakes it off.  If you have been thinking of enlarging your family with a big loveable dog, Max may be just the dog for you. 12/20/2011

Lancey: Lancey sends a big HELLO and a SMILE to everyone he meets. He is a warm wonderful soul. He is 9-10 years old. The worst part about his story we want you to know is he got dumped at a high kill shelter.   We pulled him within a few and we mean few hours of his scheduled euthanasia.  Thanks to an alert cat rescue volunteer who got involved and called Mid-Atlantic Saint Rescue. Lancey is a wonderful guy who is  great with other dogs, cats, and all people.  He likes toys and loves to play. Please consider him as you will not be sorry when he becomes your new " bestest" buddy. He is vetted and getting his teeth cleaned on 12/9.  He is ready for the holidays in his new home. 12/7/2011

BERNIE: is a two-year-old neutered male.  He has beautiful markings on his rough coat (long hair).  He has been neutered.  He came into rescue as a stray so his past is largely unknown.  He is good with other dogs.  Bernie is friendly and active.  He will benefit from obedience training, including proper leash behavior.  Bernie has a very inquisitive nature and likes to go visiting.  A fenced yard would be recommended. 11/27/2011

CHELSA: is a lovely one-year-old female who needs to be spayed.  She is very tall.  She does have a malformed foot that does not seem to bother her in the slightest.  She has a lot of energy and loves to play and take long walks.  Chelsa will benefit from being in a new home where she can be given plenty of training.  Chelsa has spent much of her short life outside where she could roam freely in a fenced yard and needs to be fully housebroken.  This sweetie is good with other dogs. 11/27/2011

BELLE: is a wonderful girl, loving and sweet, a perfect addition to any home.  She is up to date on shots, spayed, listens well, is no problem around the house, and really needs somebody to love her.  Belle is a mix, but mainly Saint Bernard as you can see from the picture. She would make a wonderful guest at your Thanksgiving table (or at least under it for scraps!). 11/14/2011

SAMMY: is looking for a new home.  He is up to date on his shots and has been neutered.  He is very sweet boy and would make a wonderful addition to your home.  He would love to come home for the holidays! 11/8/2011

Hope: and Faith: These sweet girls came to us from our friends in Garrett County Md.  They are 7-8 years old and have been together all their life. We got them in early July and are now ready for adoption. They are fully vetted including a complete dental, as their teeth were in awful shape. That has been addressed and they are much more comfortable.  It has been our pleasure to be able to help them. We appreciate all the offers of help when they first came into the shelter, from as far away as New England. However we have plenty of wonderful volunteers here that were able to nurse them to full health. Sweet and lovable is the best way to describe Hope and Faith.  They love to lounge and are just starting to appreciate their new toys.  They are actually rough coated (long Hair), however they were shaved to get the tons of mats out.  The girls have enjoyed sporting their new summer hair do's. They will only be adopted together as they are a bonded pair.  They are loving their foster mom's screened in porch as one of their favorite places to nap in the afternoon and their new fluffy beds inside at nite.  They were kept outside all the time until they came into Mid-Atlantic Saint Rescue. They are good with cats, kids, and other dogs. These 2 are a delight. 8/20/2011

BEAU: is a sweet 5-year-old male who loves attention.  He is so loveable and really is an attention hound.  You just can’t love him too much.  Beau loves to please and would make a great addition to your family.  Please call and check on him.  He truly aims to please.

Buddy: is a big beautiful 2-3 year old neutered male.  He is 150+ pounds and is very strong.  He loves adults and kids and other dogs.  He does not do good around cats, birds and other animals outside.  In the house he is just the most loving dog you could ever want.  Because of his size and strength, we would recommend him going to a home with large breed experience.  Please call for details. 4/4/2011

Maddie: Hello there my friendly folks for I am Maddie! I might only be three years old but I have lots of energy needed to be wasted and a nice home sounds like just a place to let off some steam. I am already spayed, vaccinated, (Oh I fear the H1N1) I have also been heartworm tested and started on monthly flea and heartworm treatments. I will need some house training but if you adopt me I will be sure to do my best and try. I love being outdoors and to be played with. If you adopt me I will love you with my big heart until the day you die. If you get one of those application forms you'll be making the best choice in your life. So go ahead and get one!

Destiny: came in feeling as yucky as she smelled and looked. She was anemic, had an infection, is about 15 pounds underweight and was dirty. She lived in a cellar without attention. She was so afraid she wouldn't move when you came near her. After going to the vet, getting medication, eating on a regular basis and learning that people really do love you and like to pet and give kisses she is a different dog. She now walks on a leash daily, loves eating, getting love from any person that will give it and is learning that other dogs are playmates not breeding mates. She is crate trained and learning that the house is not her potty area. She does like to escape from the crate in the middle of the night if she wants to be by you. She is learning house manners and is starting some obedience training. I think she will be a great dog. She was afraid of birds flying over us but is ok with it now, and she LOVES to chase squirrels. So a home without cats would probably be best.

Ellie Mae: "Ellie Mae is a very friendly 1 1/2-year-old female. She weighs about 100 pounds and loves to play tug of war or with her stuffed toys. She barks at other dogs if she doesn't know them, but we suspect she's just being a little bossy. We're in the process of determining whether she would be good with other dogs in a new home. She is spayed and up-to-date on her shots."
