Apache: (Eastern, TX.) is located between Houston and Austin, TX. He is a 6 year old male Saint. He is housebroken, and does well with cats and female dogs. He hasn't been around other male dogs too much. He loves kids and car rides, but is an escape artist if you don't have a secure fence, and he will chase livestock (which is why he is looking for a new home). He has been passed around alot during his lifetime, including several years of being chained to a tree, so when he finds a home this time, it needs to be forever. Please contact Glenna @ 979-203-1794 or email gmueller57@yahoo.com. 8/11/2010 Mandy: (Houston, TX) is approx. 2 years old. She is very sweet and loves to be brushed and petted. She is: spayed, UTD on shots, crate trained, on Heartguard, and is Semi Housebroken. She is EXCELLENT at the groomers they raved about how well behaved she was while getting her bath and blow dry. She is very loving and people oriented with adults and teens and loves plush toys, tug of war, and being sprayed with the water hose. Mandy does not do well with small children under 12 years old or with cats. She will bite and lunge at other dogs if she not properly introduced. Once she knows them, she should be fine with a male dog of a similar size. She has come a long way in the manners department from the MAJOR counter surfer that she was when she came here. But she can still be a little like a bull in a china shop in the house if she doesn't burn off her energy. Mandy is located near Houston, TX. Contact; Lisa Jezek 832-883-9887 hopeforbrokenangels@yahoo.com. 7/2/2010 Saint Bernard Mix: (Potomac, Il) 4 years old, neutered, house broke. Good around cows and chickens and horses, (he does stay out of the horses way too). He doesn't bother our cat at all, He has been fine with other dogs, our senior dog that passed and my daughters dog. He is with older elementary kids and up. He loves them and is a big baby around them. He is around small grandchildren too but I am careful to help them as he hasn't grown up with them. He is a good guard dog, lets you know when strangers are around. He is an inside/outside dog. GREAT house manners. Doesn't get on furniture, doesn't take things off tables/counters. Doesn't chew or tear up things. The problem is we have close neighbors and he doesn't like their dogs. It is causing problems and we are going to rehome him to stop the neighbor conflicts. He would be ideal for a farm or country home that doesn't have close neighbors. He is UTD on shots and always on heartguard, also flea drops. Penny: (West Virginia) Hi ya’ll I’m Penny! I’m an Australian Cattle Dog. My friends at the Saint Bernard Rescue say that I am 5yrs old, friendly with adults and children and even larger dogs. It’s unfortunate that I seem to like to play with cats, chickens and smaller dogs as toys. I am a very sweet and loving dog that loves to run. I can be your running buddy if you run, I can protect your fortress by barking when strangers arrive and I can rustle up some cattle if you need that too. I like to watch movies and cuddle up with you on the sofa or in bed if you let me. I am spayed, up to date on all of my shots and even house broken, so what more could you ask for? Call Colleen at 304-268-5952 and she can tell you more about me. 11/9/2009 Jake: (Maryland) Hey everyone, I'm Jake. Are you looking at me? Well I may not look like a Saint Bernard, but deep inside I really am. Let me tell you a little bit a about wonderful me, Jake. I wound up here as my owner had no time to train me. She thought I was aggressive and was going to euthanize me, but my Foster Mom thinks otherwise. I will be skittish at first as I was with my fosters. But now, I love them all equally; well, one more than the others. Foster Mom says I could really use some training and a master with time to show me that the world is not a bad place. Being only one year old means that I have plenty of time to learn with you and grow old with you. So hear me out because you will not find a better more devoted pet than me, Jake. I enjoy car rides so lets go and explore some parks together. Where do you think you will find a pet that is great on a leash and a harness? That's me, Jake! Are you looking for a cuddle partner, someone that will cuddle back for those scary movie nights? That's Jake again! Looking for a pet that is house trained? Jake! Looking for a pet that knows basic commands? Guess whooo... And what if I told you that I know a dog that is crate trained too, Uhhmmm did I mention Jake? If you are interested in talking about me, please call Miss Tootsy at 301-928-1789. 10/26/2009 Patches: ( Valley City, ND): Patches is a 2 year old rough coat saint. He is a very mellow boy. This gentle giant gets along with all types of dogs. He loves being with people too! He enjoys exploring the yard (stays close to home too), playing in the baby pool, going for car rides, and being groomed. We think he may have some allergies either environmental or food. When we rescued him from a family that didn't take the best care of him we weren't sure what was causing it so we have had him on a somewhat limited diet and he has some allergy medication for when it flares up again. He is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. If you are interested in adopting Patches please contact Tracy by email at Tracylee_ec@hotmail.com. 9/27/2009
Precious: (Manhattan,
NY) Hi! My name is Precious. I love every person I meet. I know my basic
manners: sit and down. When out for a walk I’m in a hurry and pull to get where
I’m going. I like to lounge around when indoors but love to run around when
outside. I like to pee and poop outside but I haven’t learned yet not to go
inside too. I love to play with toys. I do not like people around while I am
eating I become slightly stiff when interrupted, but the Behavior department
will show you some exercises to help me become more comfortable when you
approach my bowl. I love to be stroked and cuddle I should be okay going to a
home with kids 10 and up. And her medical write-up; Precious was seized
in early October 08 - she had been badly neglected and was very thin with
chronic and severe skin and ear infections. Precious has been diagnosed with
severe hip dysplasia and severe diskospondylosis - arthritis in her hips and
spine. For this reason, she has a bit of a wobbly gait. She's on a joint
lubricating vitamin, but will need to be monitored and may need future care.
Precious is under treatment for resolving ear and skin infections - she'll need
meds and may also require future care for this. At times, Precious exhibits
knuckling (folding over) of her back left paw and less interest in getting up.
This may be a sign of progression of her condition and she may need episodic
treatment with anti-inflammatory medication. As a giant breed dog, the
combination of orthopedic and neurological degeneration can be serious and
difficult if/when they progress. Precious will need a special family that can be
prepared to help her. She was spayed and had a dental cleaning on 11/24/08. She
had 7 extractions at this time. See vet for more info on this special girl.
